DUFUTH OBSERVES PHYSIOTHERAPY DAY IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

Today, the Department of Physiotherapy commemorated World Physiotherapy Day, recognizing Physiotherapists' significant contributions to healthcare, mobility, and quality of life.


The Chief Medical Director Prof. Uzoma Agwu, in her remark, expressed r pride in the department's initiative to commemorate World PT Day and pledged her unwavering support in providing the necessary resources to enhance its capabilities.


Prof. Agwu also counseled that the department expand its facilities, by adding extra features, such as a 24-hour Spa and Gym, and offered to support its equipment and furnishing.


The Head of the department, Nkama Thomas in his speech extended congratulations to the CMD on her second anniversary in he office, while also expressing gratitude for her significant support, including the acquisition of various equipment and relocation of Physiotherapy to a more patient-friendly site, he also requested additional support from the CMD, particularly highlighting the necessity for green carpeting and Pediatric equipment.


Mr. Nkama also appreciated his team for fostering a collaborative work environment and positive relations with their patients and other departments.


On this year's theme " Lower Back Pain" Arinze Kingsley advocated for rehabilitation, as it was essential for all types and stages of low back pain to reassure individuals, facilitate recovery, enable a return to enjoyable activities, and maintain independence in daily life.


The commemoration ended with outreach and sensitization rally around DUFUTH Community and its environs.
