David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, Uburu has successfully installed the Ion-Selective Electrode (ISE) and Chem-7 Semi- Auto Analyzer in the Chemical Pathology Unit of its Medical Laboratory Services Department.

The ISE will improve effectiveness and efficiency in the laboratory by shortening the run-around time for electrolyte assay of other chemical parameters of interest.

Mrs. Martins-Eze Njideka, the HOD Department of Medical Laboratory Services appreciated the Chief Medical Director, Prof Uzoma Agwu and her management team for kick starting the process.

She also applauded the efforts of the technical team led by Scientist Okoko Romanus ( Assistant Director Medical Laboratory Services, AE-FUTHA), whose wealth of experience brought a break- through for the the successful installation.

She also acknowledged the expertise and contributions of GEFLOX Investment Limited Engineers who played some vital roles in the installation process.

Mrs.Martins emphasized the Chemical Pathology Unit's readiness to meet the needs of numerous clients who wish to access care in DUFUTH.
