DHPRS HOLDS TRAINING FOR DUFUTH STAFF ON PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A two day training programme on Performance Management System organised for staff of David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital Uburu has been concluded with participants drilled on Key Performing Initiatives needed to monitor and evaluate institutional strategic goals and objectives for optimum productivity.
The Chief Medical Director in her speech stated that DUFUTH will not only stop at being the most beautiful health institution in terms of infracstructure, but also other essential areas in health care system, which is the reason for the PMS training.
Prof. Agwu further inaugurated an 11 man committee headed by the Head Planning Research and Statistics Ori Nneka to develop the MPMS using the template of the DHPRS of the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja, with Mr Okoro Chima, Dr Obillo Saviour, Omoke Blessing, among others as members.
The facilitator Dr. Eko David talked about institutional performance Management system with the eight focus area of the presidency, and as a health institution how day to day activities could lead to achieve the mandate of the presidency.
He further mentioned that every staff is expected to have the template, both clinical and non clinical departments.
He emphasized the need for an effective use of Electronic Medical Records software to monitor patients health and also increase financial accountability as well as
decentralisation of revenue collection point in DUFUTH using IPSAS to ensure 80% collection of revenue through Electronic Medical Records.
Dr David Eko emphasised on the need for accountability, realisability and timeliness and also suggested that operational personnel should be trained on regular basis on use of modern procedures.
