David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH) Uburu, scored yet another milestone today with a successful surgery for left radical Nephrectomy for a patient who presented on a diagnosis of left renal carcinoma which has metastasized to the lungs.

The surgery was led by our two senior Surgeons, Dr Ulebe Augustine, a consultant Urologist and Dr Orji Emmanuel , a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon as well as Dr Ebisike peace.

The first ever ultrasound guided thoracic Epidural Anaesthesia was done by Dr Obilo Chidalu Saviour, Consultant Anaesthetist, which helped to prevent morbidity and mortality associated with surgery in a person with Lung disease.

After the successful surgical procedure, both the patient and relatives praised the team for job well done and commended the hospital for their resourcefulness, and for rendering excellent clinical services with human warmth.
